just a quick note to ...

my feeble attempt at organizing my creativity

say hello, and share some photos.  I am loving my girl cave, and enjoy sewing amid the rods, reels and ammo.  I am still fine tuning the lighting situation, and I need to locate a sturdy table for my serger.  But, overall, I am a happy person down here.

Vogue 1313 styled for my life.
You might have noticed the new button in the margin-Sarah Liz of sarahlizsewstyle has organized a Sew A Long for fabric stash busting.  I have decided to use what I have and try not to buy on impulse for the next 3 months.  I think the Sew A Long is going longer than that...but the 3 month commitment worked for my relationship 38 years ago and so I'll use that rule here.  The Sew A Long has its own blog and the button will miraculously take you there.

I have 6 containers of fabric-I'd better get sewing.

    1. Hi Judy, Great to see you here! Thanks for the compliment on my cave...I just moved from the second floor to the basement. I use the antlers to hang stuff when the dressforms are full.

  3. I love your outfit! I'm taking part in a de-stash-along this year too, (different one) and I committed to using 24 pieces of fabric from the stash. So far so good....

  4. Love your "styled for my life" comment :D Hmmmm 3 months of committed stash-busting. I can do that! (especially given somewhat dire financial straits right now lol). I'll have to consider the possibility of being a "joiner" for the commitment factor - thanks for the link!

  6. Hi Mary - I absolutely adore your cave - its fantastic. We all need a hide away spot. Love the antlers - knew you would put them to good use. I like your "just for 3 months" commitment as well - then you can reward yourself with more fabric :)

  7. Well, I can hardly wait to see the new girl cave! I am just getting back into my tiny cave. Wish the weather would clear up a bit. The ground is terribly slick and muddy still, but better than dry and crisp at this time of year. That comes soon enough....Give a call if you think of it.
I'll be in touch one way or another....;)

  8. You are so cute - love the cave. Sergers are a challenge, i have mine on a sturdy wood tv tray table at the end of my work table - works great and stays out of the way of the big mama machine :-)
