books on blog

Here is a list of some book titles I am interested in sharing with you, and reading in my book club.  Do you keep a book list?  Care to share what title is on your nightstand?

The link will take you to Pinterest, which has links to the original websites for complete descriptions and reviews.  I will update this post as I hear from book club members...

  1. Thank-you! This is wonderful - another source to pick books from. Sometimes I feel a little lost, coming up with titles to put on hold at the library.

  2. You are very welcome Irene. I think this format will be much easier for me to keep updated and to share with everyone.

Doesn't it remind you of slowly going through the stacks in the library as a child?

  3. I've added some of your choices to my "must read" list. Most of your titles are new to me, so Thank You for sharing!

These are the next two books I want to read:
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks

  4. "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" is fascinating. I have not yet read "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" but will add it to my Goodreads list. That list contains everything I want to read, not just for book club.

Readers, are you familiar with Goodreads?

  5. I like quite diverse titles. but currently have on my to-read list, The Leopard by Jo Nesbo (LOVE this series), Stone's Fall by Ian Pears (highly recommended) The only one I'm not excited about is my prescribed book-club book for this month, Three Cups of Tea. Unfortunately this one feels like a duty...
And thank you so much for your very kind recent comment Mary.. it was so sweet of you!

  7. Hi Mary, let me add a little book for your consideration called The War Horse by Michael Morpurgo, however reading about your love of horses, you will need a big box of tissues. Its actually a children's book, but of course it has now been made into a film.

I just downloaded onto my ipad The Dress by Sophie Nicholls currently 0.99p in the UK from Amazon - guess I was tempted by the title - quickly read the first two chapters and so far so good, haven't had time to pick it up again yet.

P/S dead jealous that you have a horse and are riding - I rarely get the chance these days and do miss it.

  9. Mary, thanks for a link to your book list! I am a huge reader, thoughI seem to have much less time for it lately. Once my little one gets into school, I may find more time again.
Recently I've been reading the "Song of Fire and Ice" series, and next on my list is "The Trouble with Physics". I enjoy science books, and that one looks interesting.
